
WORKSHOP AD (SPEC SPOT)

This project advertises a voluntary week-long workshop for employees, inspired by the famous Ogilvy Layout for print advertising. Work is always busy, so non-mandatory training events must immediately connect to people and show them why they’re worth their time. Otherwise, no one will attend.
Using my prior experience, I designed the job aid with the following considerations:
The first element the reader sees must be a strong and relatable visual and caption: these are the emotional hooks to get the reader immediately invested
The layout needs to be balanced and professional to convey that this is a serious training workshop, but the tone of the content is “business-casual”, as if talking to a friendly colleague
The call to action must be concise and clear at the bottom of the advertisement (where readers traditionally expect information on following-up)
